Lodging options:
- Air BnB in the Dauphin, Millerstown, Duncannon, or Arch Rock area. If you can find a house that sleep six this would be my second option.
- Motels: Red Carpet Inn in Duncannon, PA. I think it runs about 70.00 per night per room. It's a roadside motel and only a place to sleep. This is your easiest option but wouldn't be my first choice.
- Ferryboat Campground in Millersburg. They have primitive and upgraded cabins and it's right on the River. This would be my first pick.
Usually in late July through early August the whitefly hatch begins on the Susquehanna River. These hatches generally bring every fish up in the River to surface feed. This can be an amazing time to fish top water on the Susquehanna River.
The hatches are a spectacle and when you are in the thickest of it there are days when you can scoop up handfuls of these mayflies from the bottom of the boat.
Start times and finish times are flexible as we may need to work around the weather. Please make sure you are well hydrated and rested. Don't go crazy trying to prep gear...we have everything you will need. It's rare but we've had some hot days where the heat has gotten the best of our anglers. My advice is to drink lots of water rather than alcohol. The Susquehanna is a massive river and we will be in drift boats. There is no "quick out" if you have a health issue while on the water.
Disclaimer: If your group has an odd number of people the odd man will need to pay full rate for their boat. For example: If there are 5 rather than 6 that third boat at 625.00 per person would be paying for only one guided day. We cannot absorb that cost. As a group if you could opt to absorb that cost that would be great or we could just make sure that the trip has an even number of guests. Please let me know if you have any questions.
